A Note from Dr. Erin Prince

This week, we're celebrating our certificated employees—our classroom teachers, counselors, education specialists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school psychologists, speech language pathologists, nurses, and teacher-librarians.

These educators help our students grow and thrive in so many ways! Their care, skill, and dedication make a big difference in classrooms, in one-on-one moments, and in the lives of families across our district.

We’re also celebrating our retirees and employees being recognized for years of service. You’ll see many of them featured on our social media pages throughout the next few days.

Please join me in thanking our certificated employees. We’re grateful for all they do!

Congratulations to Esquire Hills and Green Mountain!

We're proud to share that two of our schools have been recognized by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) for outstanding student growth during the 2023-24 school year!

  • Esquire Hills Elementary was honored for growth among low-income students.
  • Green Mountain Elementary was honored for growth among students in one or more racial or ethnic groups.

This recognition is part of OSPI's annual program celebrating schools that demonstrate exceptional progress in key areas of student success. We'll be highlighting this achievement at the school board meeting on May 28. Congratulations to both school communities!

Celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month

May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month—a time to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of AANHPI communities, both nationwide and here in CK. Our schools are recognizing AANHPI Heritage Month with activities and lessons that highlight the diversity and achievements of these communities.

Yellow Bird Chase

A bumbling maintenance crew finds a magical yellow bird, and the mad chase begins. Racing over land, across the sea, and through the air, battling pirates and monsters, how far will our heroes go…without ever leaving the storage room? Join us on Tuesday, May 13, 6:00 p.m. for an adventure of masks, puppets, and gibberish! Tickets available at CKPAC.org.
